Septagon Construction Company, a company providing design-build, general contracting and construction management services to clients in Missouri and Iowa, is pleased to announce five winners of the 2014-2015 Septagon Construction Academic Scholarship.
This year’s recipients are: Dustin Nelson, a graduate of Moberly High School, of Moberly, Missouri, who plans to major in drafting at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri; Curtis Arnold, a graduate of Helias Catholic High School, of Jefferson City, Missouri, who plans to major in construction management at the University of Missouri-Columbia; Nicolas Dighton, a graduate of Center Point-Urbana High School, of Center Point, Iowa, who plans to major in construction management/architectural engineering at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa; Joshua Patience, who is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in construction management with a minor in business at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa; Connor Ford, a graduate of Clinton High School, of Clinton, Missouri, who plans to major in construction management at Pittsburg State University, in Pittsburg, Kansas.
“We are very proud of each student’s involvement in their schools and communities,” said Stace Anderson, President of Septagon Industries. “They have each demonstrated great dedication and promise to their future, which makes us proud to present this scholarship to such deserving students.”
The Septagon Construction Academic Scholarship was established in 2006 to encourage students, who have demonstrated leadership and service, to pursue construction-related degrees. The award is a $500 scholarship for outstanding high school and undergraduate students pursuing a degree in structural engineering, civil engineering, architecture, architectural engineering, construction management or construction technology.
Selection criterion includes academic performance, letters of recommendation, school and community activities and a brief statement describing educational and professional goals.
Septagon Construction has three Missouri offices which are located in Sedalia, Columbia and Jefferson City. The Iowa facilities are located in Grimes and Cedar Rapids.
