Septagon Construction Company, a company providing design-build, general contracting and construction management services to clients in Missouri and Iowa, is pleased to announce six winners of the 2017-2018 Septagon Construction Academic Scholarship.
This year’s recipients are: Riley Pfiffner, a graduate of Benton High School in Van Horne, IA, who plans to attend Upper Iowa University, Fayette, IA, to study architectural engineering; Brady Smith, a graduate of Benton County R-I High School, Cole Camp, MO, who plans to study Construction Management at State Fair Community College, Sedalia, MO; Cameron Scarborough, a graduate of Excelsior Springs High School, Excelsior Springs, MO, who plans to study engineering at Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS; Jacob Souhrada, a graduate of Madrid Junior-Senior High School, Madrid, IA, who plans to study civil engineering at Des Moines Area Community College, Des Moines, IA; Jacob Toler, a student at the University of Central Missouri, Warrensburg, MO, pursuing a degree in construction management; and Drew Leary, a current student at the University of Central Missouri, Warrensburg, MO, who is pursuing a degree in construction management.
“We are very proud of each student’s involvement in their schools and communities,” said Stace Anderson, President of Septagon Industries. “They have each demonstrated great dedication and promise to their future, which makes us proud to present this scholarship to such deserving students.”
The Septagon Construction Academic Scholarship was established in 2006 to encourage students, who have demonstrated leadership and service, to pursue construction-related degrees. The award is a $500 scholarship for outstanding high school and undergraduate students pursuing a degree in structural engineering, civil engineering, architecture, architectural engineering, construction management or construction technology.
Selection criterion includes academic performance, letters of recommendation, school and community activities and a brief statement describing educational and professional goals.
