
The Kimballs of Belvedere, California, are involved in numerous philanthropic activities nationwide. Gretchen Bush Kimball '57, a trustee of Stephens College, has a B.A. from the University of Oklahoma. She serves on the board of governors of the San Francisco Symphony, the board of directors for Young Audiences, Inc. in New York, and is board chair of Young Audiences of the Bay Area. She is co-chair of the National Council of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation and has served as board chair of six non-profits in California. She and her husband are National Council members of the National trust for Historic Preservation.
William R. Kimball is principal of Kimball & Company, a San Francisco firm that coordinates and manages various business operations. He has an A.B. from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from Harvard University. He has been a board member of Levi Strauss & Co., Utah International Inc. and other national corporations. Mr. Kimball has served as president of the board of trustees of Stanford University, board chair of the California Academy of Sciences and founding chair of the Kimball Art Center in Park City, Utah. Currently, he is a board member of the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco, Dominican University of California and The Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito, California. Mr. Kimball also serves as honorary chair of Colonial Williamsburg's National Council.
